Chapter 3
Vincent clearly paused for a moment, knowing that I must have been upset about what happened
that night.
Vincent turned to the coffee table and took a cigarette box from it. He shook out one cigarette from
inside, placed it between his lips, and lowered his head to light it.
For a moment, a thin veil of smoke slowly exhaled.
“A few days ago, you said you wanted to go out to work, but how come just a few days later you are talking about divorce?”
“Has Mrs. Atkinson been staying for a long time and wants to go out to experience life?”
‘Go out and see how many people are outside, even those who earn thousands of dollars have to
work overtime and please others.”
“Chelsea, what else could you be dissatisfied with when you live in a 500–square–meter villa, in
front of Mrs. Atkinson?”
His tone was ruthless and cold, and I couldn’t bear it any longer. I took advantage of his momentary
distraction and smiled faintly.
“Mrs. Atkinson, is there a Mrs. Atkinson like me?”
I suddenly got up and pulled Vincent into the cloakroom, and with a loud noise, I opened the cabinet.

There is a row of jewelry cabinets, but all of them were locked with combination locks.

He gently pinched my chin and said, “If you want a divorce, what kind of life do you think you can

I was pinched by him and felt sore. I raised my hand to push him away.
The next second, Vincent grabbed my hand, his gaze coldly fixed on my empty ring finger. “Where is your wedding ring?”
“I sold it.”
1 sounded despondent as I said, “So, Vincent, let’s get divorced.”
This sentence almost exhausted all my strength.

After a moment, his thin lips moved to my ear and a frivolous tone sounded.
“Are you picking a fight with me just because of Shelby, Chelsea? Can’t you be a little more
honest?”

and leaned down to kiss me.
I refused, shaking my head to try to break free from him.

“Vincent, my leg hurts so much, can you come over and keep me company?”
A coquettish voice came from the phone, and Vincent did not immediately answer.
He seemed to have considered it before speaking to the person on the phone.
“I will come over in a moment.”
He hung up the phone and got up to change his clothes.
“I had something to attend to and will discuss the divorce matter after I come back.”
After saying that, all that was left for me was the dull sound of a slamming door.
