Chapter 20
cindy held Emilie tightly, feeling anxious and nervous, her heart almost jumping out of her chest.
“Let’s go, otherwise kill the older ones and then kill the younger ones.
Cindy felt a chill on her neck, and the blade cut through her skin. She felt pain.
“Let them go, and I’ll be your hostage,” Colt roared, walking over and standing behind them. “I am the President of the Nolan Group, I can take you out of here.”
The robber was not a fool. It was impossible to control a grown man, so he refused Colt’s proposal.
Colt picked up the stone beside him and smashed it down onto his right hand. The sound of crisp bones breaking echoed, and his face instantly turned pale.
“My right hand was broken, unable to resist. If you’re not confident, I can break my left arm again. Release them, and let me be your hostage.”
“Uncle…” Emilie whispered softly, tears welling up in her eyes, “Uncle got hurt.”
Cindy saw the moment when Colt’s arm was broken. She felt a pang of pain and her eyes turned red involuntarily.
One of the robbers checked his identity and nodded to his partner. Colt had a great social influence, so they took him as a hostage, increasing their chances of success.
“You came first!”
Colt walked slowly over, comforting Cindy and Emilie with his eyes. In the moment he was being controlled by the robber, he stood in front of Cindy.
“Go quickly, I will be fine.”
“Colt…”
Colt smiled slightly and gently pushed her away.
Cindy and Emilie retreated to a safe place as the robber took Colt hostage and walked out. The security guards and police officers kept stepping back.
Just as I was about to leave the residential area, a police car drove in and blocked the robber.
The robber was greatly startled, his emotions out of control. He held a knife to Colt’s neck and said, “Dare to deceive me! I will kill you.”
Colt tilted his head and dodged, enduring the pain of his broken arm, as he pushed the robber away.
Another robber, seeing the situation, stabbed him in the back with a knife.

‘Dad!” Emilie suddenly shouted, “Dad, be careful!”
In the moment when he was stabbed, Colt smiled and said, “Emilie, don’t be afraid, Daddy is fine.”
Colt lay in a pool of blood, his gaze fixed on Cindy and Emilie.
Cindy and Emilie ran to Colt’s side. Emilie grabbed his hand and cried out, “Dad, how are you?”
“Dad is fine, Emilie. It’s really nice to hear you calling him.”
More and more blood flowed, and his consciousness gradually became blurred.
“Cindy, I’m sorry.”
“Stop talking, let’s go to the hospital first,” Cindy said tearfully, taking Emilie with him to the hospital.
Colt was stabbed in the liver and was severely injured. By the time he was taken into the operating room, he was barely breathing.
Emilie lay in Cindy’s arms, crying sadly, “Mom, will dad die? I don’t want dad to die, I want to be with dad.”
“No, Dad won’t have any problem,” Cindy stared at the lights of the operating room, comforting Emilie and herself.
Colt will be fine.
نا
The surgical light went out, and Colt was pushed out. His face was pale, his eyes tightly closed, and he showed no response to the outside world.
Cindy looked at him as if she saw Colt from six years ago.
He was also like this, with his eyes closed and devoid of vitality.
This time, however, he was saving the mother and daughter.
“Colt, you couldn’t have something going on,” Cindy said in his ear, “Emilie just received her father’s affection, you can’t leave her again.”
“Dad, please wake up quickly, okay? I still want to play with you. From now on, I will call you Dad.” Emilie kept crying, crying until her voice became hoarse.
Cindy shed tears as she led Emilie to the custody room.
The doctor said that he was very likely not going to wake up.
