Chapter 5
Two hours later, Emilie opened the door and came out.
She held a teddy bear in her hands, and her eyes were swollen like light bulbs.
This toy bear was the only gift that Colt gave to Emilie.
Emilie was treasured.
“Mom, I didn’t want it.” Emilie held up the teddy bear, pretended to smile, and handed it to Cindy. “Uncle only had two chances left.”
“Okay,” Cindy didn’t know how to comfort her daughter.
“I want to hold a birthday party and invite my good friends to attend. Mom, is it okay?” Emilie looked up, and Cindy couldn’t bear to refuse.
In previous years, Emilie used to celebrate her birthday at home, with only her.
However…
Colt never appeared.
Never paid attention to it.
Cindy agreed, knowing that this was Emilie giving Colt a chance.
Emilie kept coughing, and Cindy was worried about her health, so she took a few days off for her.
On the weekend, Cindy took Emilie to a children’s amusement park. She sat on the side and chose a
location for Emilie’s birthday banquet.
Suddenly, she heard Emilie crying.
Looking up, she saw Allan snatching things from her.
Allan was rude and domineering, he insisted on snatching the toy from Emilie’s hands. When
Emilie refused, he forcefully pushed her down.
Cindy hurried over and picked up Emilie.
“Apologize!” Cindy stared at Allan sternly.
Allan turned his head away, lied, “Why should I apologize? She fell down on her own!”
“I saw you push my daughter with my own eyes, you must apologize to her.”
Allan, with a defiant expression on his face, suddenly sat down on the ground and burst into loud sobs upon seeing the person behind him.

Allan,” Colt hurried over, checking on his condition.
His eagerness and worry were never shown to Emilie.
Cindy laughed bitterly.
Allan grabbed his arm and complained, “Colt, they bullied me, took my toys, and even hit me.”
Colt got angry, turned his head, and when he saw Cindy and Emilie, he paused for a moment.
His expression changed from concern to indifference in just one second.
“What’s going on?” he interrogated.
“Uncle, it was him who pushed me,” Emilie looked at him earnestly, “Mom and I didn’t bully him,
Mom just wanted him to apologize to me.”
Seeing Colt, Emilie stopped crying, longing for his care.
“Hmm,” Colt frowned, “Were you injured?”
“No,” Emilie shook her head, her lips curling upwards, thinking that Colt was concerned about her.
“Hmm.” Colt nodded indifferently and started to walk away with Allan.
Emilie’s eyes darkened.
Unspeakable sadness enveloped Cindy as Colt’s favoritism went too far.
Colt may not love them, but he cannot repeatedly hurt Emilie.
“Stop.” Cindy gritted her teeth and stopped them, “He must apologize.”
Colt became displeased with her unreasonable tantrums, and his expression turned slightly cold.
“Don’t extrapolate.” he warned, “He was just a child.”
Cindy’s heart sank, but she didn’t back down. “Mr. Nolan, no matter the size of the matter, if a child
pushes someone, they should apologize. There are surveillance cameras in the store, and if
necessary, we can review the footage.”
She said no for the first time in front of Colt.
Colt felt increasingly surprised and displeased, with a growing frown on his face.
Cindy did not back down.
Emilie had suffered too much injustice, and Cindy had to seek justice for her.
Colt didn’t care about Emilie’s feelings, but she did.

She did not allow him to support other children and bully Emilie.
apologize on his behalf,” Colt said coldly to Allan, seeing that he was unwilling to apologize. “He didn’t mean to.”
“You…” Cindy felt a chill in her heart as he unexpectedly defended Hazel’s child.
“It’s okay, I forgive you. Mom, let’s go,” Emilie grabbed Cindy, forcing a smile and shedding tears as she turned away.
Cindy was equally upset, her heart felt as if it was being twisted by a hand. “Okay.”
