After Alexander and I got married, Martin didn’t calm down at all.
He had a big fight with the Gibson family and left the Gibson Group to start his own business.
Saying it out loud, one day I would completely defeat Alexander and regain my pursuit.
Unfortunately, his talent was mediocre, and without the resources and assistance provided by the Gibson family, he simply did not have the ability to start a business on his own.
Martin fought and lost repeatedly, and over time, the Gibson family also acted as if this son did not
exist.
After getting married, Alexander shifted all his work focus to the domestic market. With a wealth of overseas resources already accumulated, he quickly established a strong foothold in Newwald, replacing the long–standing wealthy family and leading the Gibson family to a high position.
One day, I suddenly asked him, “What would you have done if you hadn’t married me in this
lifetime?”
In his eyes, there appeared a hint of fragile sadness as he said, “Madam, how about I tell you a story
first?”
“Ten years ago, I happened to return to Newwald and attended the coming–of–age ceremony o young lady from a wealthy family.”
“At the banquet, some young ladies got into an argument and accidentally spilled red wine on a
little girl.”
“The little girl’s pristine white dress was ruined, and she cried heartbreakingly.”

“It was supposed to be her big day, but the young lady of the wealthy family was not at all angry that her party was interrupted. Instead, she rushed back to her study and excitedly took out paints and
brushes.”
She comforted the little girl while using a paintbrush to redraw the stains on her clothes into a
lovely rose shape.
“The little girl was very satisfied with her new dress, while I, on the other hand, was completely smitten by the equally lively and intelligent young lady, like a rose.”
“Unfortunately, the young lady already had someone she liked at that time, and she had always been passionate and brave.”
Although I liked her, I sincerely hoped that she could have the happiness she wanted.
Listening to these familiar past memories, my eyes were already filled with tears.

I hid in his arms, and he smiled and kissed away my tears.
“So, about the question you just asked me, actually I have pondered over it countless times in the past decade.”
“If I never had the chance to marry you in this lifetime, then I would prepare myself for a life of solitude. I would focus on working abroad and try to provide as many collaboration opportunities and orders as possible to the lucky man who marries you. I would assist you in living a worry–free life and finding happiness in this world.”
At that moment, I completely understood.
In fact, it was never about me having a prosperous husband destiny, but about Alexander, in every lifetime, silently giving his all to protect me.
I held him tightly and then took the initiative to turn over and press on top.
