Chapter 9
Not until the interview was over did I see dozens of missed calls on my phone.
It was Megan and Felix who called. In addition, there was an entertainment news update about the Sampson family.
A bad premonition arose in my heart.
I clicked in and indeed saw the photos of myself and Megan wearing cheap wedding dresses,
waiting for the groom on our wedding day.
Someone in the comments exposed me and Megan for using our own mother’s illness to threaten
the Sampson family for a fraudulent marriage.
Even my mother’s death was said to be a scripted play.
Someone also dug up the details of our hometown. The significant disparity in assets made
netizens overwhelmingly believe this statement.
I was trembling with anger, preserving the evidence by taking screenshots one by one, intending to
file a lawsuit.
When I was about to take a taxi home, Felix called me again.
He opened his mouth and sternly questioned, “Didn’t you say you wanted a divorce? Why did you
expose those photos? Do you know that the wedding company is going to sue Julianna because the person who signed the contract is not the same as the main character of the wedding?”
“She was originally just trying to help, aren’t you being unreasonable now? Wasn’t it you who caused that trending topic yesterday? You clearly know that my mom doesn’t like her, how can you
be so scheming?”
She has already let go of the fact that you laid hands on her, why are you still causing a scene?
Seeing how determined you are, I thought you really wanted a divorce. All this fuss is just a ploy to .keep me interested, isn’t it?
I was so angry with him that I almost fainted on the spot.
When faced with shameless and brainless people, saying anything is in vain.
“Think whatever you want, I can’t do anything if you insist on being narcissistic. Let me know when
you’ve decided on a time to proceed with the divorce!”
Without waiting for his response, I immediately hung up the phone after speaking.
As I took two steps, I saw Felix’s Maybach parked in front of me.
My face instantly turned dark.

Before he could figure out how to retaliate, he pretended and said, “If you don’t want a divorce, it’s fine. I’ll pretend nothing happened this time, but you must apologize to Julianna. It was indeed your fault for starting the physical altercation.”
This time I couldn’t bear it anymore and shouted at the top of my lungs, “Are you crazy? Only an idiot wouldn’t be able to tell who posted those things online!”
“Did Julianna cook your brain into soup? My mom was not feeling well that day, and I even asked the on–site staff to take photos? Only an animal could do such a thing!”
He didn’t expect that I would argue with him directly on the street, and his face turned red instantly.
He heard the scolding and immediately turned as black as the bottom of a pot. Just as he was about to speak, his phone rang.
He glanced at me, a hint of hesitation flickered across his face.
After answering the call, the vehicle quickly started and sped away from me.
It was Julianna who called, without even thinking.
Only she could make Felix lose control like this.
I forced a self–mocking smile at the corner of my lips and took a taxi back home.
At the moment the door opened, the company for the interview called.
“Ms. Schultz, were you the main character in the photo online?”
“I’m sorry, but we may not be able to hire you…”
The phone was hung up, and I forced a smile as I walked through the door.
Megan had already prepared the meal and hurriedly came forward to take the bag from my hands.
“How was your day today? Sister, you’ve worked hard. You go ahead and have your meal, and when
I recover from my injury, I will also go out and look for a job!”
“Don’t worry, even though I haven’t been working for three years, it’s not a problem to support you!”
I took out my phone and glanced at the date. It was time for Megan to change her medicine.
During the meal, her expression seemed somewhat unnatural, as she hesitated to speak several
times.
After hesitating for a while, she finally spoke up, “Leonel called me again.”
