“What does this have to do with me? I don’t know anything” Kellan said as he slowly lowered his hand from the doorknob.
“Get your ass over here,” Garrison suddenly shouted,
“You’re not going anywhere until you explain everything to me!”
Seeing the father and son start to argue, I stood by and started eating my snacks.
“Dad, I really don’t know anything. It must be Bram deliberately framing me and locking up Xanthe.”
I laughed at Kellan’s words.
“You say I framed you? Then tell me, what do you have that’s worth framing?”
Kellan was so flustered by my question that he started spouting nonsense with a straight face.
“Of course it’s for the company shares.”
“You tied up Xanthe beforehand, found some people to pose as kidnappers, created the illusion that she was kidnapped, and then killed her in front of us!”
“In the end, with my sister dead, all the company shares would become yours!”
I didn’t expect this kid to have such a vivid imagination, to be able to come up with such a story in such a short time.
But what he couldn’t possibly know was that I had evidence of

Xanthe’s affair with him long before this. On that day, I was
supposed to go on a business trip out of town, but halfway there, heavy rain started pouring down, forcing all flights out of New York City to be canceled.
I had originally planned to surprise Xanthe, so I hadn’t called to notify her in advance.
Little did I know, as soon as I arrived at the mansion, I noticed the light in the second–floor bedroom was still on.
There was also a pair of men’s leather shoes at the front door.
My first thought was that Xanthe was having an affair!
Initially, I wanted to leave, but curiosity drove me to go upstairs.
However, I never expected that the person Xanthe was cheating with would be Kellan!
Later, when I had someone investigate, I found out that Kellan wasn’t even Garrison’s biological son.
Like me, he was a disadvantaged student sponsored by Garrison! While I was gathering evidence of Xanthe’s affair, I overheard these two plotting how to fake a kidnapping.
That’s when I decided to play along and see their act through to
the end.
“Kellan, don’t you think your plan was foolproof?”
With shaking hands, I took out my phone, pulled up the video I had secretly recorded that night, and pushed it towards the police. “Officer Hudson, Xanthe put that wedding ring there herself.”

Father–in–law could no longer sit still at this moment, and he turned around to slap Kellan across the face.
“You… Didn’t I already agree to let Xanthe divorce Bram? Why are you still making such a scene?”
Unexpectedly, Kellan dropped his act and retorted:
“Marriage? You think I’m with your daughter because she’s beautiful and kind–hearted? If it weren’t for her money, who would
like her?”
“All I want is her money!”
