Chapter 12:
The world had already decided who I was. A homewrecker. A seductress. A woman with no morals.
But I wasn’t going to let them write my story. Not anymore. This had to end. I hated how people blamed me without hearing both sides. Yes, it was forbidden, but people make mistakes. I won’t be defined by those mistakes that I know I can still make right.
I sat at my desk, my fingers trembling slightly as I typed. My article wasn’t a plea for sympathy. It was the truth. Every ugly, raw, and unfiltered detail. I admitted my past with Jayson, our secret relationship, the scandal that followed. But I made sure to make one thing clear–i was not the villain they painted me to be.”
Johan leaned against the doorway, arms crossed. “Once this is published, there’s no going back.”
I met his gaze. “Good, because I was not scared anymore.”
I just wanted people to stop talking. I realized if I let them get into me, then I wouldn’t be able to move forward.
With one final click, I sent it out into the world.
The internet exploded.
The media devoured every word, twisting it into new headlines by the hour. But surprisingly, a shift began. People started questioning Fiona’s role in all of it. Some even defended me, saying I was a victim of Jayson’s manipulations. Others dragged Fiona, pointing out her hypocrisy and past scandals
Still, the damage had already seeped into my family.”
“You put our name on the line,” my stepfather said, his voice heavy with disappointment. I had expected that since with the recent events, our company’s stocks hit a toll. Of course, it was on me and Jayson Who would want a forbidden relationship? I never wanted it but it was too late. It was done !
“I put the truth out there.” I corrected. “I admitted it instead of pretending that it didn’t happen,” I said. “I’m sorry if that ruined us but wasn’t the one who put those articles out.“%
“You should have stayed quiet, Anastacia. Now look at what you’ve done!”
Tears burned in my eyes, but I refused to let them fall. “I didn’t ruin this family. I was just the easiest one to blame.”
The tension in the room was suffocating. But then after what felt like forever, he sighed and ran a hand down his face.!!
“It’s done now” My mother squeezed my hand, and I knew she was on my side.
Then came the unexpected. Jayson called
“I’ll fix this,” he said, his voice unusually calm.E
I scoffed. “A little late for that, don’t you think?
“I’m going to make Fiona pay ”
I sat up straighter “And why would you do that?
“Because she’s the reason you’re being dragged through the mud. His voice was tight with anger. “I know you don’t trust me, but at least trust that I won’t let her get away with this.”
I hesitated for a moment before exhaling sharply. “Don’t bother. I already have my own plan.”
And that plan?!
It was going to happen tonight. The night of Fiona’s fashion show was here. She had been expecting this but she didn’t expect me.”
Johan and I arrived at the venue, dressed to perfection, Cameras flashed the moment we stepped out of the car, reporters scrambling for statements !
“Miss Anastacia, do you have anything to say about your recent article?
“Do you regret exposing your past with Jayson?”||
I smiled, keeping my voice cool and controlled. “The only thing I regret is not speaking up sooner. I don’t care what you say but just so you know that it wouldn’t define me.”
Johan’s grip on my waist tightened in silent support. “We’re here to enjoy the show. Let’s not waste time on the past.”
With that, we stepped inside, leaving the press buzzing.k-
Fiona stood at the center of the runway, glowing with confidence. She walked the stage in a dazzling couture gown, drinking in the applause. She thought she had won. That she had ruined me beyond repair?
She had no idea what was coming. The moment she took her final walk, the venue’s massive LED screens flickered. The audience murmured in confusion as the lights dimmed.
Then, the footage played
A leaked conversation. A series of text messages. Pictures. Evidence. Fiona and the married director she had been having an affair
with.
back
Gasps echoed through the hall. Fiona froze on the runway, her face draining of color as the whispers turned to homified chatter.
But the real storm came when a woman in the front row stood up.
The director’s wife. She stormed onto the stage, eyes blazing, and before Fiona could react–SLAPIS
The sound echoed, loud and satisfying.
“You lying, cheating whore!” the woman screamed, yanking Fiona’s hair. “I should have known that you were betraying me behind my
