I watched him now, standing by the balcony of our estate, Angelo perched on his hip. He looked so effortlessly at ease, smiling down at our son, his dark eyes soft in the golden light of sunset
This was the life I never thought I’d have. A family. A home. Love that wasn’t tainted by secrets.
Angelo babbled excitedly, pointing at the sky as a flock of birds passed by
Johan chuckled, adjusting his grip on our son. “You see that, buddy? One day, we’ll take you on a plane, and you’ll see the world.“%
I leaned against the doorway, my heart swelling at the sight of them. It was moments like this that made everything we had been through worth it
Johan turned his gaze toward me, his smile widening “You’re staring.”
I shrugged. “Can you blame me?”
He smirked. “No. I’m worth staring at
I rolled my eyes, but my lips curled into a smile anyway.
That evening, our estate was alive with laughter and warmth. Johan had arranged a grand celebration–not just for his success, but for the fresh start we had all been given.
His father was there, not as an enemy, but as family. The past was behind us now, and though things weren’t perfect, we had all leamed to move forward.
Jayson was there too, but this time, he wasn’t alone. He had finally met someone–Clara. She was nothing like Fiona. Where Fiona had been cunning and manipulative, Clara was kind and genuine. She softened Jayson’s rough edges, grounding him in a way I had never seen before
“I never thought I’d see the day.” I teased, watching Jayson steal glances at Clara throughout dinner
He scowled. “What’s that supposed to mean?”;
“It means you actually look happy.”
Jayson’s scowl faltered. “Yeah. I think I am “8
I smiled, squeezing his hand. “You deserve it “B
For a long time, I never thought we could mend what had been broken between us. But we did.
Fiona, Jack, and Yanna would rot in prison for the rest of their lives. Justice had been served. And as I sat there, surrounded by the people I loved, I realized.. this was everything I had ever wanted
The evening stretched on, filled with good food, music, and the kind of laughter that only comes when you know you’re finally free But then–A sharp wave of nausea hit me
I barely made it to the bathroom before I emptied the contents of my stomach.
I gripped the sink, breathing heavily, my vision blurring slightly
No
It couldn’t be
I stared at my reflection in the minor, my mind racing. I knew this feeling. Heart pounding, I pressed a hand to my stomach.
A baby Could I really be.. pregnant again?
The thought sent a rush of emotions through me–excitement, fear, disbelief. I needed to be sure. Ignoring the celebration outside, I slipped out of the estate and drove to the nearest pharmacy.!!
I hadn’t even realized how much my hands were shaking until I tried to open the pregnancy test.
Minutes felt like hours as I waited
Then, finally-
Two pink lines. Positive
I covered my mouth, a choked laugh escaping. I was pregnant. Again.
I let out a shaky breath, pressing a hand to my stomach once more.
“Looks like you’re getting a sibling, Angelo,” I whispered.
Tears welled in my eyes–but this time, they weren’t from sadness.
This time, I was happy
When I returned to the party, I found Johan by the pool, deep in conversation with his father.
I didn’t wait. Without thinking, I ran straight into his arms
He caught me easily, his brows furrowing. “Whoa. What’s going on?“\
I pulled back just enough to look into his eyes, my hands trembling as they cupped his face.
Then, softly, I whispered. I’m pregnant.”
Johan stilled I
For a moment, I wasn’t sure he had even heard me.
Then-
His eyes widened. His mouth parted slightly, his grip on me tightening. “You’re-”
I nodded.
His expression shattered into pure, raw joy. He laughed–an unrestrained, disbelieving laugh. Then, before I could react, he lifted me off the ground, spinning me in circles.
People turned, watching us in confusion.
“What’s going on?” Jayson asked.
Johan didn’t answer. He just pressed his forehead against mine, eyes shining.
“Another baby,” he whispered.
I bit my lip, nodding “Another baby.”
Johan exhaled a shaky breath before pressing a deep, lingering kiss to my lips.
Then, he turned to the crowd, his voice booming.
“WE’RE HAVING ANOTHER BABY
A beat of silence-
Then, cheers erupted. My mother rushed forward, hugging me tightly. Jayson clapped Johan on the back. His father even gave a rare smile.
That night, as we lay in bed, Johan’s hand rested on my stomach. I traced lazy circles on his chest, basking in the quiet.
He kissed my forehead. “You happy?”
I smiled against his skin. “More than I ever thought possible”
He hummed think this calls for another wedding.
I laughed. “We’re already married”
“Yeah, but now we have to renew our vows. Bigger, better-
I rolled my eyes. “Or we could just keep it simple.“||
He smirked, “Fine. As long as you’re stuck with me forever”
I lifted my head, meeting his gaze “Forever sounds perfect.
Johan pulled me closer, his lips brushing mine in a kiss that tasted like love and promises.8
And for the first time in my life I knew that this was my happily ever after
