Chapter 13
Chelsea, that bitch! How did she end up with Winston? She’s even met Muriel! Julia fumed, eager to tear Chelsea apart, her fists clenched tightly.
Meanwhile, Chelsea had no clue about Julia’s anger. She helped Muriel into a cabs and watched as it drove away.
Once Muriel was gone, Chelsea pulled out a box and handed it to Winston. “Muriel wanted her future granddaughter–in–law to have this, but I can’t accept it. You should take it back.”
Winston didn’t budge. He just stood there. Frustrated, Chelsea shoved the box into his arms and turned to leave.
“Thanks for dinner,” Winston called after her. From what he could see, Muriel was pretty happy w
with Chelsea
“It’s nothing. You take me in, and I’ll help you with your Grandma,” Chelsea said, brushing off any need for gratitude with a casual tone.
After sending Muriel off, Chelsea finally started to think about work. She kept hesitating, though.
She really wanted to ask Winston about it since he entered the workforce before she did. Maybe he had some insight.
Before she could say anything, the phone buzzed wish a string of unfamiliar numbers.
When she picked up, it was Margot’s voice on the other end. “Chelsea, are you really going to ditch our family just to hang out with some random guy!
Chelsea stepped out onto the balcony and scoffed. “Why do you care who I’m with?”
“Word is you hooked up with Mr. Watts. Honestly, I didn’t think he’d even look your way. Did you pull some trick?” Margot raised an eyebrow, T should have figured it out. Someone like you, who clearly doesn’t love herself, must know how to charm guys, right?”
Chelsea’s face turned red with anger and embarrassment, the humiliation making her feel like she might explode. “Margot you—”
There was a rustling sound over there, followed by a change in the speaker.
“Chelsea, you make me sick! What do you have to offer besides your body? Can’t believe you’d stoop so low for money!” Wade was all about the
Cecil was the classic playboy, and Chelsea nalled a partnership with his company–anyone with a brain could see how.
He used to think Chelsea was just heartless, but now he found her totally repulsive for trading her body for business.
Chelsea didn’t have anything nice to say about Wade anymore, but it was still pretty embarrassing to be humiliated like this. “Wade, can you get your head on straight? Why does it even matter to you if I’m low and cheap“”
Chelsea hung up the phone with a heavy heart, tears spilling down her cheeks,
Winston frowned, watching her stand there motionless for quite a while. “Chelsea, are you alright!”
Chelsea quickly wiped her eyes and replied, “I’m fine.”
After the call, she headed to her room without asking Winston anything more. He watched her go, his eyebrows slightly raised in concern.
Then, his phone rang. It was Muriel calling.
Winston answered, “What’s up, Grandma?”
“Winston, I’ve met Chelsea. I really like her. Now that you’re married, you need to treat her right. Make sure to reveal your true identity soon before it leads to any issues,” Muriel said.
She had walked to Chelsea and was really happy with her..
Winston stayed quiet. His marriage to Chelsea was meant to be a business arrangement, and he didn’t see a need to worry about hidden dangers. “Grandma, you should get some rest,”
Chelsea walked into the office at Amber Jewels and heard chatter all around her.

Chapter 13
Joba, congrats! Mr. Wa
project is all yours!”
“Yeah, I heard Mr. Watts is thrilled with the design. We’ll be depending on you from here on out!”
As her colleagues praised her, Julia strutted around, chin held high. She noticed Chelsea coming in and stepped forward with a smug grin. “Chehra, I’m sorry, but Mr. Peters said I’m managing the project, so the byline is also mine”
Chelsea tightened her grip on her bag, her knuckles turning white. “Julia, are you serious?”
“Don’t take it so hard” Julia said, giving Chelsea a dismissive pat on the hand. “You’ve been Margot’s ghostwriter for ages. You should be used to this by now
Chelsea’s face flushed red in anger. She pushed past Julia and barged into Abe’s office, demanding. “Mr. Peters, shouldn’t you explain why I’m not getting credit for my design?
Abe, startled, nearly spilled his coffee. “Chelsea, you’re new here. There are some rules you might not know, and that’s on me. The dust has settled on the byline, and the commission is now doubled”
Abe figured Chelsea was clinging to the byline for the money. Now that the double commission was on the table, he couldn’t help but think she just playing hardball.
Chelsea bit her lip, realizing Abe had intentionally hidden this whole thing from her until it was done.
Abe knew she was talented and didn’t want to step on her toes too much. He lowered his voice. “Julia is Mr. Moody’s cousin. We can’t offend her Just think about it—what’s more important than the cash?”
Chelsea brushed off Abe’s reasoning. This is a one–time deal!”
DOST
She stormed out of the ofice, while Julia, with a sly smile and raised eyebrow, thought to herself that it didn’t matter how upset Chelsea was–she’d still end up backing down.
Chelsea stepped back into her role, feeling a mix of anger, shame, and resentment swirling around her until she could finally calm down.
Julia had secured the credit that rightfully belonged to her with the Moody family as her backers. It was frustrating for Chelsea, especially since she felt like she couldn’t even stand up for herself.
Heath was too caught up with the consortium to even check in on her, and Chelsea thought that she was the reason he was in trouble in the first place. The last thing she wanted to do was add to his stress
The new product launched at the Wise Group wasn’t going well–pretty mediocre, to be honest.
Chelsea’s original design was still on the table, but Margot’s customized version didn’t make the cut
Drogo looked over the sales numbers and frowned hard. His long–time secretary commented, “Mr. Wise, if we’re talking about design alone, Chelsea is still the standout”
When Chelsea was around, she tackled all the design work for the Wise Group. She’d created several bestsellers and had even saved the Wise family from the brink of disaster during some of their toughest times.
But now.
it seemed like no one
no one was taking her seriously.
Drogo overheard the chatter and lashed out, “Don’t bring up that traitor who got married behind my back and still won’t make things easy for me!”
“Why don’t you just ask her directly?” the secretary suggested, believing Chelsea would make a better heir than Margot.
However, given the terrible relationships within the Wise family, she was in no position to step in, especially as an outsider.
Meanwhile, Margot was outside, clenching her fists in jealousy as she listened. Everyone at the company seemed to think Chelsea deserved the praise, while Margot felt like her hard work was going unnoticed.
Once back in her office, she found Wade waiting for her. She walked over to him, eyes welling up, and said, “Wade, did I mess up! Why is everyone so into my sister?”
She added, “I know it’s because I’m not talented enough, but I’ve really put in the effort.

“It’s just that
my sister was the on
one who plagiarized. I let her be my ghostwriter because I couldn’t bear to see her leave the field. Now everyone thinks I just don’t measure up”
Wade fell a flush creep to his cheeks at the mention of Chelsea’s plagiarism.
Chrisea clearly had a bright future ahead, but her choice to plagiarize in such a significant competition brought her down, and it also made Wade the butt of jokes in their circle
“Hey Margot, don’t beat yourself up about this. Chelsea really doesn’t have what it takes to be designing. You’ve given her opportunities for the past three years, and honestly, she should be the one thanking you.” Wade said, making Margot feel better.
Speaking of which, Margot suddenly remembered. “So there’s a dinner party tomorrow night. Are you coming with me,
Wader
